Jennifer Lawrence caught in photo hacking scandal

An online hacker has stolen naked photos from some of the world’s most famous women and leaked them online, according to emerging reports from the US.

The images were reportedly stolen from celebrities’ iPhones due to an iCloud leak and posted to an online forum.

The hacker responsible is claiming to have up to 60 more nude images of Oscar-winning actress Jennifer Lawrence and is demanding bitcoins for their release.

A publicist for the Hunger Games star Jennifer Lawrence has confirmed the images in a statement threatening to prosecute anyone who publishes the stolen content.

“This is a flagrant violation of privacy. The authorities have been contacted and will prosecute anyone who posts the stolen photos of Jennifer Lawrence,” Lawrence’s spokesperson Bryna Rifkin said in an email statement to website Buzzfeed.

A “master list” posted to the forum suggests that several other stars are involved in the hacking breach, including Rihanna, Cara Delevigne and singer Ariana Grande.

One of the victims, actress Mary Elizabeth Winstead, has reacted to the hacking incident on Twitter:

The hacker claims to have accessed dozens of celebrity accounts, including those of A-list stars Ariana Grande, Kate Upton, Kirsten Dunst, Teresa Palmer, Kim Kardashian, Hilary Duff, Gabi Greko and Victoria Justice.

A handful of intimate photos appear to show Palmer with her ex-boyfriend Scott Speedman, including a couple of the actress lounging topless in a pool along with fully nude images.

Palmer has yet to comment on the leak.

Disney star Justice said the photos of her aren’t real.

“These so called nudes of me are FAKE people. Let me nip this in the bud right now. *pun intended*,” she tweeted.

A spokesperson for Grande also denounced the photos, telling Buzzfeed that the images are “completely fake”.

Upton’s spokesperson told HuffPost that they are looking into the allegations.

Celebrities have often been targets of phone hackers, with Christina Hendricks, Olivia Munn and Blake Lively recent victims.

In 2012 a man was sentenced to 10 years in prison for releasing nude images of Scarlett Johansson on the internet.
