Hoffman and Scott’s autopsies ‘hacked’

Staff at the New York Medical Examiner’s Office have reportedly viewed the photos and autopsy reports of two recent celebrity deaths without authorisation.

New York Post report suggests that lower-level morgue workers breached the office’s computer system in order to view the autopsy reports of fashion designer L’Wren Scott and actor Philip Seymour Hoffman.

According to whistle-blowing inside sources,  employees at the Office allegedly accessed the highly confidential files for entertainment.

Julie Bolcer, a spokesperson for the Medical Examiner’s Office, denied the claims.

“Only authorized employees who use our systems for their daily casework have access. There are extensive security measures in place,” she said.

Scott, who was dating Rolling Stones frontman at the time of her death, committed suicide in her New York apartment in March.

Hoffman died of a heroin overdose in February.
