Aussie actor caught ‘smoking heroin’

Packed to the Rafters and Love Child actor Ryan Corr has been charged with illegal drug possession after he was allegedly “caught smoking heroin” in Bondi in May this year.

According to Fairfax media, the 25-year-old was allegedly carrying a freezer bag of heroin powder when he was apprehended by police in Castlefield Lane at 1.10pm on May 27.

Corr was unable to make his first court appearance yesterday as he was overseas for work, filming the BBC series Banished.

Corr left Australia five days after the reported incident to spend three months overseas.

The matter has been adjourned until September 2.

Corr is a rising star in the Australian film and television industry who has also appeared in a series of Underbelly and the second instalment of the Wolf Creek films.

He is set to appear alongside Russell Crowe in the upcoming film The Water Diviner.

In 2011, he won the Australians in Film Heath Ledger Scholarship and has received two Logie nominations in his career.
