A new music festival has appeared on the horizon to rescue music lovers from one of the biggest party periods of the year without a festival to attend.

Beyond The Valley will occupy Pyramid Rock’s previous location, where rolling hills meet the sea in Phillip Island. It’ll kick off on December 30 and run until January 1.

While we know the name, the dates and the location, there is one big mystery – who will be performing. The line up hasn’t been announced and the promoters are staying tight-lipped about it.

Promoter Filippo Palermo told The New Daily the acts would be “forward thinking”, catering for fans of alternative rock, indie dance, hip hop, electronica, trap, glitch hop and more.

Mr Palermo says there will be a “good spread of both local and international bands and DJs.”

But the promoter adds that it won’t just be the music that makes Beyond the Valley worth the entry price.

“I think what people will love about Beyond The Valley is all the quirky gimmicks, decor and activities we’ve got going on,” he says.

The festival will take the new craze of ‘glamping’ to the next level, providing patrons with the opportunity to pimp their tents. This means portable private showers, toilets, a bar fridge or even a mobile Jacuzzi.

Mr Palermo says they are very excited about the ‘chief camp’, a fully furnished hotel-style campsite with room service and a breakfast buffet, which he said has been receiving a lot of attention on social media.

The summer festival music scene is a difficult industry to break into, particularly with the ongoing popularity of the Falls Festival. However, Mr Palermo is not worried.

“We’re trying to focus more on what we’re doing rather then paying too much attention to our competitors. We want to provide Victorian festival punters with a new and original option for the new years period – and we’re confident our lineup will attract a lot of interest.”
