Advisor: Movies not to miss this weekend

Biopic: Yves St Laurent

Director: Jalil Lespert
Starring: Pierre Niney, Guillaume Gallienne, Charlotte Le Bon
Duration: 106 minutes
Classification:: M

Why you should watch it: An exquisite film about the legendary French fashion designer. It’s been a bad year for biopics (ahem, Diana, Grace of Monaco) but Yves Saint Laurent is one worth considering.

Arthouse: The Last Impressario

Director: Gracie Otto
Starring: John Cleese, Naomi Watts, Kate Moss, Anna Wintour, Yoko Ono
Duration: 83 minutes
Classification: M

Why you should watch it: Directed by Australian Gracie Otto, daughter of Barry and sister of Miranda, the all-star cast should tell you something about this documentary on one of Britain’s greatest talent scouts, producer Michael White. White brought Yoko Ono to the UK and produced Monty Python and The Holy Grail.

Fun: How to Train Your Dragon 2

Director: Dean DeBlois
Starring: Cate Blanchett, Jay Baruchel, Gerard Butler, Craig Ferguson, America Ferrara
Duration: 102 minutes
Classification: PG

Why you should watch it: Like last year’s massive Disney hit Frozen, How to Train Your Dragon 2 is getting rave reviews and is certainly not just to be enjoyed by children.
